SHUDDER SEASON WEEK 3
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) * Directed by Francis Ford Coppola
Here’s the thing about Coppola’s Dracula—you can recognize that some of the acting is, well, Keanu, but by God, it’s so gothy, seductive, and audacious that you cannot tear yourself away.
Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, and Tom Waits team up for a sensuous retelling of the old aristocratic revenant-a literal feast for your eyes!
Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) * Directed by Werner Herzog
So much to love here, the patience, the cinematography, the empathy for Dracula’s existential angst, and of course, Isabelle Adjani’s fierce portrayal of Lucy. My favorite out of all the Nosferatu adaptations.
Vampire’s Kiss (1988) * Directed by Robert Bierman
Folks, I present to you, Nicolas Cage, in full and glorious lunacy.
I'M A VAMPIRE! I'M A VAMPIRE! I'M A VAMPIRE!
